Select Civil have been engaged by the state’s major bulk water supplier, WaterNSW to design and construct strengthening systems, as well as general refurbishments to 16 heritage bridges supporting their water infrastructure. The bridges range geographically from Robertson in the South, to Warragamba in the North, and are a mixture of steel girder, concrete arch and timber deck bridges.

The project has a total value of $9.8 million, commenced in February 2019 and is anticipated to reach practical completion through to February 2021.

Of the many challenges faced throughout this project, one of the more intricate problems is generating designs and specifications that fulfil both structural and heritage constraints. Select Civil have engaged consulting engineering firm Cardno to undertake the investigation and design components of this project, and we look forward to the expertise they bring to the table.
