St Georges Basin Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade

The St Georges Basin and Callala Bay Treatment Plant Upgrade project was commissioned by Shoalhaven Water whom are the owners and operators of the treatment plants. The design, project management and construction supervision was undertaken by the Department of Commerce on behalf of Shoalhaven Water.

Select Civil was appointed the Principal Contractor for the works valued at approximately $5M expected to last for 9 months.

The scope of works at St Georges Basin treatment plant was;

  • Mechanical upgrade of existing inlet works
  • Electrical upgrade of plant
  • Construction of a new sludge lagoon including earthworks, concrete works, pipelines and fit-out
  • Construction of a new storm return pump station and rising main
  • Construction of a new storm detention pond including inlet pipeline, connection pit, earthworks, HPDE liner installation and concrete works
  • Resurfacing of existing roads throughout the site and construction of new access roads
  • Miscellaneous safety upgrade works

The scope of works at Callala Bay treatment plant was;

  • Electrical upgrade of plant
  • Upgrade and replacement of existing surface aerators in IDEAT tanks
