Select Civil won the Contract to construct the Process Plant Foundations for Boral’s Peppertree Quarry at Marulan.

Boral’s  Peppertree Quarry was constructed to quarry granodiorite which is similar to granite making it ideal for road base and concrete aggregates. The quarry supplies the Sydney metropolitan area via a rail link from the quarry to a rail to road transfer facility constructed at Maldon near Picton.  The Peppertree quarry incorporates fully automated crushing, screening and materials storage plant that is being designed and installed by Sandvik.

Select Civil were employed as the principal contractor for the construction of the Process Plant foundations. This included the detailed set out, excavation, concrete and bolt placement for the machinery foundations. An approximate total of 8,885m3 of concrete and in excess of 3000 bolts were placed within very strict tolerances. The tolerance placed on the bolt installation was 6mm between combinations which was achieved with strict monitoring and checking by sub-contractors & the Project Management team.
